Let Invisalign make smiling a pleasure for you!
Don’t think that you are alone because you have misaligned teeth, it is estimated that almost fifty per cent of people in the UK are unhappy with their teeth, for one reason or another. The term malocclusion refers to how your teeth align. This misalignment is caused more often than not by hereditary factors and in some cases by thumb, dummy or bottle teat sucking, when you were a child. The bottom line is that dental science and technology have provided the dental industry with a variety of options to help you. For decades the only really effective form of treatment was a very visible, uncomfortable metal brace. More recently a number of dental appliances have been created and developed to make the condition of malocclusion treatable in a more targeted way. Certain conditions may necessitate the use of more than one appliance over the duration of the treatment. As a dentist it is our ambition to make smiling for you a pleasure and we can achieve this with Invisalign in Dorking, an unobtrusive dental aligner.
Early diagnosis
As with any condition that affects your body, the earlier that your condition is diagnosed the sooner treatment can commence. At Old Court House Dental Practice we use the latest technology to examine your oral cavity. The Invisalign in Dorking digital equipment provides us with scanners, computer software and hardware that allows us to compile a 3D image of the inside of your mouth. From this we are able to produce images of how your teeth currently look and the smile that you can have once the treatment has corrected your condition. This equipment takes out all the guesswork and provides you with sound information on which to base your decision of whether to proceed or not.
Fulfilling your ambition
Once you have decided to proceed our friendly dedicated team will create a treatment plan that will be discussed and created for you. Everything is done digitally which helps to make things happen quickly. Invisalign in Dorking aligners work differently to traditional dental braces because instead of fitting to the front of your teeth. they fit over your teeth. Based on your particular dental condition a series of aligners is produced. Each one is designed slightly differently and the number of them depends again on your condition.
Discreet and comfortable
The advantage of these aligners is that they are manufactured from a clear thermoplastic which makes the treatment very discreet, almost invisible. You will need to wear them for a minimum of twenty-two hours per day, but you can remove them to clean your teeth and to eat and drink. Each one will need between two to three weeks to work properly, but in some cases may require a little longer to produce the desired result. As with any dental treatment you may experience a certain amount of discomfort initially, but as the treatment progresses this discomfort should diminish.
Treatment completion
Once your treatment has been completed you can reveal that all important smile that you have been waiting to unleash. To allow your teeth to settle into their new position, you will need to wear a final retainer. Brushing and flossing can continue as normal and you should now be able to clean properly between your teeth if that was a problem in the past.
